Craig's Portrait

Introducing one of our exceptional trainers
Craig Curtis is one of the longest serving trainers at Consider Care. Craig is a person with extensive life experience and attending one of his classes is always a relaxed, fun and enlightening class. It doesn’t matter what your background or experience is, he ensures all students are well supported.

As a result of a car accident Craig has Paraplegia and uses a wheelchair and while he has a disability he is definitely not disabled. Craig travels to all sites to deliver training and is incredibly devoted and committed to delivering training to provide better outcomes for care clients. He can relate to disability workers and gives a voice and perspective for the people with a disability they support. He provides personal examples in the training environment, bringing a level of sincerity and authenticity to the material and examples that he presents.

When we asked Craig why he liked working for Consider Care Training, he had this to say:
“I remember my first telephone conversation when I advised that I had a disability and used a wheelchair. The response was extraordinary. To Consider Care my disability wasn’t an issue, it was all about giving me an opportunity if I believed I could do the job. Most employers I have encountered believe I am too old and too disabled to consider employing. This has never ever been an issue for Consider Care. I am shown respect and treated as an equal and I feel valued for what I bring to the organisation.

As a person with a disability, the work environment has done a lot to build up my feelings of self-worth and self-esteem, feelings that were severely lacking prior to Consider Care giving me an opportunity to prove myself as a trainer.”

We are thankful to have Craig as a senior member of our team and a great trainer in our Care sector.
